Nelson Suburban Club

The cards section play a range of games- Euchre, Cribbage, Flag 500 and 45's.

Euchre is played every Tuesday afternoon from 1pm-4pm and Thursday evening from 7.30pm-10.00pm.

Each month we play a home and away match against Club Waimea for the Trounson and Woods Trophy. Twice a year we play (home and away) against clubs of Marlborough for the Blenheim Jewellers Cup. Both of these Trophies are for Euchre.

We also travel to Blenheim another 5 times a year to play in various tournaments of Euchre and Cribbage. Conversely, they come over to join us in Cribbage and Euchre Tournaments, mainly in the middle of winter.

In July, there is a game of cards every Sunday, starting at 11.00am. (Cribbage, Euchre and Flag 500) these games go to approx 3.15pm, then a game of 45's commences at 4.00pm going through to tea time.

This year we intend to have two full day tournaments of 45's.

The card section hosted the National Cribbage Singles Tournament in April, with great success.

We also travel away from the club to compete in National Euchre and Cribbage singles, and South Island Euchre and Cribbage Pairs.

In 2003, the Suburban Club Cribbage Team (8 players) won the NZ Safety Trophy for the South Island Cribbage Pairs.
