Mother's Day is fast approaching, this year we celebrate it on Sunday 10th May in New Zealand. It's a time when we don't just celebrate our own mother, we also celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
As a husband and father you might want to treat the mother of your children, or as a girlfriend you might want to tell your bestie what an awesome job she's doing! Whoever, you think is an amazing Mum there are so many ways to celebrate it, and the good news is they don't all have to cost money.

- Give her some peace - A mum is always on the go, she's always the centre of a busy household, juggling chores and looking after everybody else. So this Mother's Day give her an hour to herself. Scoop up the kids and take them to the park, so the person you think is the best Mum in the world can just take time to do whatever she wants to in her own time.
- Put pen to paper - In the world of email and text messages, a written letter is a rare and beautiful thing. Take the time to find the words that convey how much she means to you.
- Get crafty - Make your Mum something. A cake, a knitted scarf, a picture, a special book. Whatever your craft is from baking to scrap booking, make the most of your talent to create something wonderful for Mum.
- Enjoy a walk - We are fortunate in Nelson to have the most spectacular scenery and beaches, enjoy it with a Mum that you think is awesome!
- Treat her at Tosswill's Restaurant & Bar - Okay this one does cost money... But at just $18 for members and $23 for non-members our buffet lunch is amazing value. The delicious dinner buffet is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. ($10 each for children aged 5 - 12). Plus there's a special chocolate treat for all Mums, and no dishes!
