Hi everyone

What a great weekend we had in the club last weekend. The Vintage Car Club certainly enjoyed their dinner and the other groups that used the Club on Saturday and Sunday all commented how much they enjoyed the facilities and food. It’s great to receive good feedback like that and we hope that we can host more events like them. We will certainly be looking to secure more bookings like that one. We created a very comfy MB area in the sports hall which was well received by the majority. Thanks to our members who use the club on a Saturday for giving up their bar area to allow the VCC to use the space. It wouldn’t have been possible to host their numbers without the additional floor area we needed. I apologise for the inconvenience. However I will go as far as to say that the Club needs the revenue from more events like what we hosted on Saturday. I hope we can make you see the benefit the club gains from accepting large bookings. For your information we have another change out for another large corporate event on June 28th.
What a lot of rain we have been having lately, it’s great for the garden and the water reserves but I would have been happier if it didn’t fall on our roof. Unfortunately we have a few leaks in the roof that have caused some minor cosmetic damage to the ceilings. In the next few weeks you will notice some repairs being carried out. We will try and keep any interruption to a minimum.
Have you been to the club lately?
If not we would love to hear from you. Tell us why? Is there something we could do which will encourage you to use the club more regularly? The Club needs your support and with the winter months upon us traditionally we will get quieter. Pop in and have a meal and a drink and support your club.

Entertainment
Check out the guide on our website or our table talkers and screens in the club for an update on our entertainment guide. We have a good line up of music coming your way for Friday and Saturday evenings for the Members Bar. It’s great to see more members and guests staying on a bit later on a Friday and Saturday to support the club and enjoy the entertainers.
Gift Vouchers: Stuck for a gift idea?
Don’t forget we have Club gift cards available at reception. What a great way to recognise a birthday or to say thank you to someone special or just to show your appreciation for a job well done. There are countless reasons to consider a Suburban Club gift voucher when deciding what to give. You can redeem your loyalty points to purchase vouchers too.
Pick up & Drop Off service
Don’t forget to book our van service on a Friday and Saturday evening if you want to leave the car at home. It means you can have that extra drink or three and not have to worry about driving. Not only that it has to be cheaper than driving your car here and home again?
Note that due to lack of bookings we have suspended the service on a Tuesday and Thursday. We will review it again at the end of winter.
Once again we are in need of voluntary drivers to help with this service. If any of our members can help us out it would be appreciated. Please contact myself or Grant Phillips.
House & Building Maintenance
Are there any Trades people – handymen – handywomen among us who are prepared to join the House and Building voluntary maintenance team? We have a number of maintenance projects on the horizon that need attention soon and our small team of volunteers will need help. If any of you are willing to offer your services please talk to Ian Jones or myself, we would be very interested to hear from the following trades. Electricians – Painters – Builders – Plumbers – Gardeners – Cleaning.
