Hi Everyone
Not long to go until Christmas. Isn’t it amazing how fast time goes? Thanks for the positive response from many of you toward our Christmas day lunch; we are now fully booked which is fantastic! If you are booked in please don’t forget to bring your prepaid tickets with you. The only area that will be trading on Christmas day will be the Restaurant; for those people who have booked in for lunch. We are open again from Boxing Day. A list of our Bar, Café and Restaurant hours for the Christmas and New Year period will be on display in the entrance.
Christmas Raffle:
We still have plenty of tickets available for our Big Christmas Raffle. Tickets are in the Main Bar and cost $5. We have three draws and the total prize pool is $1,000. Once again the proceeds from this raffle will go directly into the mortgage account. If you haven’t got a ticket yet please support the Club by taking one or two. If you can’t make it into the Club but would like to be in the draw - we can take your payment over the phone and allocate your number/s so give the office a call between 9am and 3.30pm. You can view the prize list on our website under Membership draws.
Fundraising Update:
As you are all aware we have been putting all money received by way of donations and proceeds from additional raffles (i.e.) Club lottery and Jackpot Joker into a fundraising account for additional mortgage repayments. So far your efforts have raised an amazing $27,000. The majority of this has been received through donations for which we are very grateful to the members who have contributed so far. It’s been fantastic to see the amount of members who have already come forward and donated to the Club this year. Thank you again for your support.
In my last update I advised that we will be sending a letter out in the next couple of weeks. I have reviewed the timing of this and feel that it is not the best time of year to be asking members to loan or donate to the club again so we will hold off now until after Christmas. In the meantime the best thing we can all do to improve the finances over Christmas and New Year is to come along and have a meal and drink regularly.
But for those of you who do wish to make a payment now; you can do so via direct credit into our bank account, over the phone by credit card or at the Reception desk.

Outdoor Dining Area:
The outside area is starting to look really good and isn’t far from being completed. The Garden Group have done a brilliant job of transforming the area with new planter boxes and plantings that will provide some privacy and shelter for you. We hope to receive some new outdoor umbrellas donated from Coca Cola to provide shade and we are working on recycling some old bar leaners to add more table options too. This area will become SMOKE FREE once completed so we hope to encourage you to eat outdoors during the warmer days and evenings.
Smoking Area:
With the upgrade of the current smoking area being made into an outdoor dining area the designated smoking area will be relocated to outside the back exit door. The Garden Group are currently making a couple more planter boxes to plant pittosporums in for this area.
Pick up and Drop off Update - Extended Service for your convenience, please use it.
Effective from next week we are increasing the pick up and drop off service for you. The effect on the Club’s revenue is already blatantly obvious within the first week of the reduced alcohol driving limits coming into effect. We know many of you who would normally have more than one or two drinks are worried about driving now. The Club can’t afford for you not to come and have a drink here; therefore we can’t afford not to have the service working for you. As we have not had the response we needed from our members seeking more volunteer drivers to be able to cover the extended periods - I have employed someone on a part time basis to take on the role. In addition to running the coach service our new employee Kerryn will assist anywhere else within the Club that is required. We hope that the demand for the service will be so well received that we will need to increase the service above what we are going to do, therefore it is still vital that we have volunteers on board too. The pick up and drop off service will run at the following times:
Tuesday & Thursday from 4pm till 8pm. Friday & Saturday from 4pm till late.
Coming soon will be prepaid concession cards for you to use when using the coach. In addition to this you will be able to use your loyalty points to purchase the concession cards. What a great way to use your points.
That’s all from me folks - Enjoy the week
Regards Rob
