Happy New Year and welcome back if you have been away. I hope you had a great time; the weather has been brilliant over the last month reminding us all of why we love Nelson summers .
I hope you have managed to read the article in the Nelson Weekly; it shows a promising future ahead of us. Our focus for 2015 is to bring our existing members quality events and also to re-build membership of the club. I would like to think that every one of you will help us out with the second focus; I am sure you all know of someone who isn’t yet a member. Please bring them along and sign them up. Furthermore this is a great time to do it with the current offer.

UPDATE ON THE BUILDING REPORT:
We have finally received our Structural Engineer’s Report – and I am pleased to inform you all that we have reached above the required percentage to the new building code. This is good news for us as it means the doubt surrounding the older structural elements of the building has now been removed; allowing us to promote the Sports Hall as a functional Venue Hire area again. The Nelson Suburban Club Sports Hall is a large room with full bar facilities, a large dance floor and staging. Perfect for weddings, trade shows, large events, social events, corporate conferences, family reunions and more.
NEW RAFFLE - Jackpot Joker $2 and Club Lottery $5:
If you haven’t had a go then come on down on a Tuesday, Thursday & Friday afternoon and support it. There are some great cash prizes up for grabs. Proceeds from each of these go directly to the Club’s fundraising mortgage account and NOT to operating costs so every time you support this you are helping to reduce the Club’s borrowings.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF SERVICE:
Don’t forget to take advantage of this service. There’s no reason to risk getting caught driving over the limit and no reason at all why you still can’t enjoy a few drinks down here at the Club and then get taken home. The service is for all members and visitors and is available on the following days for your convenience.
- Tuesdays: 4pm to 8pm
- Wednesdays: 4pm – 7pm, run by the RSA
- Thursdays: 4pm to 8pm
- Fridays & Saturdays: 4pm till Closing
All we ask for is a donation to help cover the costs of running the service. Don’t forget concession cards are available from Reception for 15 points from your NSC Club card or $15.
