Hi Everyone
Spring is here. It hasn’t rained for two weeks and the days are getting longer which means a little more time after work to stop into the Club on your way home to relax and enjoy a beverage with your mates. The Members Jackpots are getting up in value now and there’s plenty going on afterwards to stay a while longer and have a go at. Click on the links within your newsletter to go to all of the Clubs activities. There’s something for everyone to do. Wednesday evening Housie is becoming popular as is the Thursday evening Poker games amongst all of the regular weekly activities such as Pool, Darts, Snooker, Euchre, Indoor bowls, Clogging, Line Dancing, Scrabble or just sit around and talk about seasonal tips with the Garden Club if your into gardening. If you would like to join one of the many sections we have here in the Club but don’t know who to talk to, give the office a call and we can arrange to have someone from the section contact you and get you introduced.
If you haven’t thought of coming down to the Club lately then come in for a meal? Check out the Club Cafe meal of the week. This has proved to be a popular option amongst you all with good numbers being ordered throughout the week. The meal deal period is from Thursday to Wednesday and is available at both Lunch and Dinner time. Perhaps you are just looking for filler for morning tea or after your meal? Try our Coffee and cake combo for just $7.90. Don’t forget to have your club card swiped to earn your loyalty points.
Father’s day is here this Sunday so bring Dad along for a delicious morning Brunch served in the cafe from 10am. If you can’t make brunch, make a booking to treat Dad to either lunch or dinner at our Tosswill’s buffet restaurant.
Update on Special meeting. Sunday 5th October Sports Hall
I know you are all waiting to know when the next meeting is going to be held. I can now tell you that we have set the date for the next special meeting which is to be held on Sunday October 5th at 10am in the Sports Hall. Prior to the meeting we will be mailing out an information document to all of our financial members to consider. I know this has been taking some time however there has been a need to gather some legal information prior to releasing the document to ensure the Club is not breaking any laws.
Farewell
This week we say goodbye to our functions and events manager, Sheryl Wagner. Sheryl has been working here at the Club for 6 1/2 years during which time she has covered the catering and restaurant duties. Sheryl has done a fantastic job at organising and running all of the Club’s events since taking over form Lynne Hackett. Her dedication to every function she worked on ensured that the guests were offered the very best of attention and service. Our appreciation goes with Sheryl. She has been a major contributor toward the Clubs recovery and she is going to be missed immensely. We wish Sheryl all the best for her new job.
AGM
The Nelson Suburban Club 44th AGM is to be held at 10am on Sunday November 23rd 2015 in the Sports Hall.
2014 -2015 Executive Nominations
Are you interested in making a difference at your Club? Have you got a lot to contribute and time to give? Do you know a member who would make a fantastic committee member for the Club? Are you prepared to put your money where your mouth is? Now is the time for you to consider nominations for executive for the 2014-15 year. Not an easy role and often an unrecognised one, you will be part of the Clubs recovery and will be full of great ideas. You will assist with improving patronage through your ability to encourage new groups and existing groups to use the facility. You will be nominated to stand because you want to help the Club move forward and have the drive and commitment to help make it happen alongside your pier executives. If you have an interest in being an Executive Officer in the Club and have the drive to make a difference, your application will be welcomed. As a candidate you will stand alongside our current committee for election. If you have the time and can commit to such a role then now is the time to come forward and express your interest. Nominations for the roles will open on October 24th and close on November 7th. Voting for the candidates will open on November 7th and close on Saturday 22nd November. The AGM is to be held on Sunday November 23rd at 10am in the Sports Hall.
Have a great week
Regards Rob
