Hi Everyone
Just a quick update from me this week folks.
After all these years the main bar finally has its own dance floor! Thanks to the very generous donation of materials and voluntary labour you can enjoy dancing on a real timber floor and not carpet. I would like to say thank you to the Nelson Rock & Roll Club for giving us this fantastic gift. I know it will be appreciated by everyone who uses it. The club also thanks the following for their voluntary help with putting the floor down and the sanding and sealing of it - Nigel Brown, Maurice Howard and Elite Sanding. You guys are all amazing for doing what you have done.
We have had some great evenings in the main bar with the renewing of regular entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night. Everyone comments after a night of dancing on carpet how sore their legs get. There’s no excuses now though folks. It’s down and it’s begging to be used. I’m sure that the dance floor will help to attract more members and guests to the Club.
It’s great to see some Rock & Roll people coming back to the club on a Thursday evening to dance in the Hall. If any members are interested in joining the Rock & Roll club they meet every Thursday at 7pm in the sports Hall. Lessons are free so come along and have a go. It’s a great way to exercise and a very sociable evening. With the new dance floor ready we hope to see everyone out in the main bar when we have entertainment too.
AGM. The club’s 44th annual AGM is to be held at 10am on Sunday November 23rd 2014.

Nominations close at 6pm Friday 7th November 2014. You can pick up forms from the bar entrance area. Nominations for the following positions will be accepted up until 6pm Friday.
Patron, President, Vice President and six Executive Committee Members.
