The Card Section play a range of games - Euchre, Cribbage, Flag 500 and 45’s

Euchre is played every Thursday evening and Cribbage every second Tuesday evening, from 7.30pm-10.00pm in the Members Bar (February to November).

45’s will be played each month on the 4th Wednesday, with extra games after the winter Sunday tournaments.

 Each month we play (home and away) against Club Waimea, for the Trounson and Woods Trophy.

Twice a year we play (home and away) against Clubs of Marlborough, for the Blacklaws Trophy.  Both of these tournaments are for Euchre.

We travel to Blenheim another 5 times a year to play in various tournaments of Euchre and Cribbage.  Conversely, they come over to join us in Cribbage and Euchre tournaments, mainly in the middle of winter.

In July, there is a game of cards every Sunday, starting play at 11.00am (Cribbage, Euchre and Flag 50).  These games go to approx. 3.15pm, then a game of 45’s commences at 4.00pm, going through to teatime.

We also travel away from the Club to compete in National Euchre and Cribbage Singles Tournaments, and South Island Euchre and Cribbage Pairs Tournaments.

This year, in August, Suburban Cards will be hosting the Clubs NZ Euchre Singles Tournament.  This will be played over the weekend of 12/13 August.  On the Saturday, the contestants will play 36 games to qualify, and on the Sunday, will be split into Cup Finalists and Plate Finalists, playing another 27 games.

In October, Suburban Cards will host the S I Masters Games Card Sports.   From Thursday 5 October – Sunday 8 October, we will run Cribbage Singles and Pairs, and Euchre Singles and Pairs.
